Information for Voters

The next election is October 16, 2017.

Proper Identification

In order to vote, you must produce identification for inspection, as required by Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Election Bylaw No. 13/010, in addition to making a statement that you are eligible to vote. The identification must be one piece of government issued identification containing the elector’s photograph, current address and name. This includes an Operator’s (Driver’s) Licence or an Alberta Identification Card.

An elector who is unable to produce government issued photo identification must produce two alternate pieces of identification prior to voting. Both pieces of identification must establish the elector’s name and one piece must establish the elector’s current address.

Residents of First Nations Reserves

First Nations Reserves are not part of the Municipality; therefore, any individual who resides on a First Nations Reserve is not eligible to vote in this by-election.
