Background

The Municipality has begun preliminary negotiations with International Coliseums Company (ICC) to build a sports and entertainment centre (SEC) at the downtown location bordered by Franklin Avenue, Morrison Street, MacDonald Avenue and Main Street.

If selected to build the SEC, ICC would guarantee a affiliated lead tenant, work with local contractors including IBI Group and ensure that the type and the number of events held at the proposed facility, including trade shows, concerts and community events, meets the expectations of residents, stakeholders and the region.
