Waterfront Development Background

Adopted in November 2012 as a guiding document, the Waterfront Program established the vision for the Waterfront and provided the guidance needed for the development of the plan area.

The Waterfront Program also set into motion the implementation of a plan to create a continuous system of public open space that will serve many of the recreational needs for the residents of Fort McMurray through an array of activities.

Follow the Waterfront redevelopment through weekly progress updates, the activities of the Waterfront Steering Committee, up-to-date information on public consultation, and review the plans and key documents that are guiding the development of Fort McMurray’s Waterfront.
