2018-2021 Strategic Plan

On January 30, 2018, Council approved the new Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Strategic Plan. The strategic plan, which includes a new vision, mission, values and strategic priorities, was developed to act as a guide for the actions of the RMWB over the next four years.

Through a mission of delivering excellence every day, the RMWB will seek to achieve the vision of a vibrant, sustainable region we are proud to call home. Four strategic priorities are identified in the plan, along with actions to achieve progress on these priorities and key performance indicators to measure success:

  • Responsible Government
  • Downtown Revitalization
  • Regional Economic Development
  • Rural and Indigenous Partnerships and Communities

The RMWB Strategic Plan is a map to the future of our region; it provides focus and clarity on the direction the RMWB will follow to achieve the vision. The plan also provides a transparent and accessible mechanism that encourages citizens to understand the strategic priorities and track progress over the next four years as we work together towards a vibrant, sustainable region we are proud to call home.
