Unapproved LPTC Minutes - April 18, 2017

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has scheduled a Public Hearing to take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Jubilee Centre Council Chamber, Fort McMurray, regarding the following:

Bylaw No. 17/005 – Road Closure Bylaw

Bylaw No. 17/005 proposes to close the undeveloped government road allowance within the Parsons Creek Aggregates project area in order to facilitate development of this project and address safety concerns related to public access within the area.

Administration supports the proposed road closure as it will facilitate development of the Parsons Creek Aggregates project by consolidating these lands with adjacent dispositions. Furthermore, public safety concerns related to traffic management issues through the quarry site will be addressed by diverting vehicle traffic through alternate routes around the site and away from quarry operations.
