Arts & Culture Master Plan (ACMP)

About the Arts and Culture Master Plan

Supported by a Community Advisory Committee, the Municipality is working to develop the Wood Buffalo Regional Arts and Culture Master Plan (ACMP). The ACMP will be developed in partnership with key community stakeholders and serve as a guiding document to support and enhance arts and culture initiatives in Wood Buffalo over the next ten years.

The 2018- 2021 RMWB Strategic Plan identifies the support for arts and culture as Strategy & Initiative #3f. The development and implementation of an arts and culture plan through collaborative partnerships is a key component of this initiative.

The ACMP will outline arts and culture priorities of each community partner and key stakeholder, including the Municipality, to align policies, strategies, and actions to support decision-making and resource allocation to maintain a vibrant, sustainable community and quality of life for current and future residents

Project Outcomes

  • Provide opportunities to identify arts and culture priorities, strategies and actions that key community stakeholders and partners can use to align policies, strategies and actions.
  • Increase the awareness, knowledge and appreciation of arts and culture in the region.
  • Create a vision to support and enhance arts and culture initiatives in the region.
  • Develop a plan of action that takes into consideration how the Municipality can move forward as well as how community stakeholders and partners can take an active and meaningful role.
