Child and Youth Recreation Funding Programs

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is committed to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for all residents in the region. The following two programs can help families afford to register their children for organized sports, setting the foundation for good health and wellness as they grow.

St. Aidan’s Society Summer Camp Subsidy

Families who lost their home to the 2016 wildfire or lost their employment due to the 2016 wildfire are eligible for the Summer Camp Subsidy. Up to two weeks of camp registration will be paid for families who meet this criteria. Funding is provided by the Red Cross.

No kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport is a provincial program that provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Applications are available on the Kidsport Wood Buffalo website.
