Invitation to an information session on the Penhorwood Demolition Process
On behalf of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, I am writing to let you know about the next steps in the demolition process of the Penhorwood condominiums.
On November 25, Mayor and Council passed a resolution approving the funding of the demolition of the Penhorwood condominiums. As a result of this decision, we’re inviting you to an information session to share information about the demolition process on:
Monday, December 15
Drop-in Information session, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
9909 Franklin Avenue
We look forward to speaking with you there and answering your questions. This information session will be an opportunity for owners to connect with RMWB staff and subject matter experts on the next steps of this demolition process.
During this information session, RMWB staff and subject matter experts will provide more information on the demolition process, the safety plan, and next steps. We anticipate that by December 15, we will have awarded the contract to the company who will perform the work, and will be able to speak to the specifics of this process. We invite you to join us for this session for more information. If you are not available to attend this session, we will be sharing any relevant information through the form of email, as well as making it available online [on this page].
Also enclosed is a notice from the Safety Codes Officer indicating that the Municipality will be taking the steps necessary to demolish the buildings.
We are committed to ongoing information sharing throughout this process, and invite you to be in touch with us should you have any questions. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
