Anzac Fire Hall Construction

The Anzac Fire Department is one of five rural fire departments within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and has been operating out of the existing fire station for thirty years. The Anzac Fire Department has grown in both membership and equipment to meet the required response needs; this has resulted in out-growing the current facility.

In addition to meeting the expanded Fire Department, the aim of the new fire hall is to create a new civic building that will instill pride in the community, and serves to attract and retain volunteers.

The site for the new Fire Hall is located at the north east corner of Cheecham Drive and Christina Drive, at 112 Christina Drive.

Casman Building Solutions Inc. will be operating as the municipality’s contractor, assisted by Stantec, the municipality’s consultant on the project.

Schedule of Work

Crews will be mobilizing to the site starting on July 26, 2016. Work will begin immediately to clear the site of trees and grub, making it possible to excavate foundations for the new fire hall.

Work will take place throughout the winter to complete the project on-time. Substantial completion of the fire hall is expected by October 2017, barring unforeseen delays due to weather or other unexpected variables.
