28th annual Alberta CARE Conference comes to Wood Buffalo Sept. 5 - 7

(Fort McMurray, AB – September 5, 2018) – Albertans from across the province are coming to Wood Buffalo this week because they CARE about recycling and the environment.

The 18th annual Association of Alberta Coordinated Action for Recycling Enterprises (Alberta CARE) conference is being held in Wood Buffalo, and it’s the second time the conference has been hosted in this region.

“We’re excited to host the Alberta CARE conference in the region again this year,” said Mayor Don Scott. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase Wood Buffalo to visitors as well as highlight our successes with recycling and share ideas with other experts from across the province.”

With over one hundred and twenty delegates expected to visit the region, they will be discussing everything from recycling, waste management, FireSmart, wildfire recovery, oil sands reclamation, scrap tire processing, and carbon credits.

The conference is being held at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre in Gregoire, and includes presentations from local municipal staff, whom are experts in the field of recycling and environmental services.
