Census 2018 thanks residents for making it count

(Fort McMurray, AB – July 31, 2018) – Today marks the end of Census 2018.

It may have taken a little longer than expected, but the municipal census achieved its 100 per cent goal earlier this month. The unofficial population of the region is 112,045.
“The census is essential in providing an accurate snapshot of our region post-wildfire,” said Mayor Don Scott. “I am incredibly grateful for the involvement of our residents, who came together to ‘make it count’ for Census 2018.”

The count is still subject to approval by the province. Official population figures will be shared publicly later this year.

The last municipal census in 2015 tallied 125,032 residents.
