What is happening? As of 4:30 p.m. today, the Alberta Health Service “Do Not Consume” Water Advisory has been lifted for both the Hamlet of Janvier and the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation. Community members can now resume regular use of tap water. This means community members can use water for: Drinking Cooking Feeding pets Gargling or brushing teeth or dentures Making ice cubes, soups, juices, or other mixes Food preparation, including washing fruits and vegetables Preparing baby food or infant formula All other regular preparation and consumption purposes On Jan. 24 at approximately 10:00 a.m., an incident occurred at the Janvier Water Treatment Plant. The Janvier Municipal Office will remain open from 8 a.m. – 10: 00 p.m., daily. Water Bottled water will continue to be available at the Janvier Municipal Office for the duration of the water outage. Additional water is being delivered regularly to ensure there is a sufficient supply for everyone, including community members living on First Nation.
