Big Bin Events Beginning June 10 – Dispose of Large Household Items

(Fort McMurray, AB – June 8, 2017) – It’s time to think big about spring cleaning. Residents are encouraged to dig out those large household items that need disposal and take them to one of the annual Big Bin Events beginning June 10.

This free service allows residents to dispose of large household items which cannot be set out for regular waste collection, such as large furniture, renovation materials (wood, countertops, tiles, etc.) and yard waste.

Electronic waste such as computers, televisions and other electronics will also be accepted for recycling. Household hazardous waste such as used oil, paints and batteries will also be accepted for environmentally friendly disposal.

Appliances such as refrigerators/freezers/air conditioners/water coolers may also be dropped off but will be subject to a $39 fee for CFC removal.

Residents are advised that commercial, construction and animal waste will not be accepted at these events.
