Bylaw Services Weekly Update: Feb. 20 - 26, 2017

(Fort McMurray, AB – February 17, 2017) – As the Municipality’s FireSmart fuel reduction projects continue, residents are reminded that controlled burns are ongoing in the Birchwood Trails. For the interest of public safety, please stay clear of the sites and drive with caution when passing these areas on the road, slowing or stopping your vehicle near controlled burns increases the risk of traffic collisions.

Photo radar vehicles will be located near the following areas for week of Feb. 20 - 26, 2017:

  • Carteret Road
  • Dickins Drive
  • Gregoire Drive
  • Eagle Ridge
  • King Street
  • School Zones within the Urban Service Area

DriveSafe Intersection Safety Systems are active at the following intersections:

  • Thickwood Boulevard and Silin Forest Road
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Woodland Drive
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Cornwall Drive 
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Real Martin Drive
  • Franklin Avenue and Tamarack Village Mall
  • Franklin Avenue and Hospital Street
  • Confederation Way and Paquette Drive

We ask motorists to be mindful of posted speed limits and to obey traffic signals.
