Bylaw Services Weekly Update: Feb. 6 - 12, 2017

(Fort McMurray, AB – February 3, 2017) – In correspondence with the Municipality’s ongoing FireSmart fuel reduction projects, residents are reminded that controlled burns are ongoing in the Birchwood Trails and are asked to stay clear of the sites and drive with caution when passing these areas on the road. Slowing or stopping your vehicle near controlled burns increases the risk of traffic collisions.

While the FireSmart fuel reduction projects are active, fire and smoke from the controlled burns will be visible. This may cause concern or unexpected emotional triggers in individuals. The Municipality reminds residents that this is a natural reaction and that resources are available to help cope with this stress.
