Bylaw Services Weekly Update: Nov. 1-6, 2016

(Fort McMurray, AB – October 28, 2016) – Pets are an important part of our community and we take their safety seriously by enforcing the Animal Control Bylaw. Pets left in extreme conditions can suffer serious injuries or death. In 2016, two people were convicted of leaving their pets in unventilated vehicles, resulting in fines of $450 and $500.

If you notice an issue involving pets, please call the RMWB Municipal Law Enforcement office at 780-788-4200 so a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer may respond to the incident.

Photo radar vehicles will be located near the following areas for week of Nov. 1-6, 2016:

  • Brett Drive
  • Thickwood Boulevard
  • MacKenzie Boulevard
  • Highway 63 between Hardin Street and Beacon Hill
  • Highway 69
  • School Zones within the Urban Service Area

DriveSafe Intersection Safety Systems are active at the following intersections:

  • Thickwood Boulevard and Silin Forest Road
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Woodland Drive
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Cornwall Drive 
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Real Martin Drive
  • Franklin Avenue and Tamarack Village Mall
  • Franklin Avenue and Hospital Street
  • Confederation Way and Paquette Drive

We ask motorists to be mindful of posted speed limits and to obey traffic signals.
