Bylaw Services Weekly Update Oct. 23 – 29, 2017

(Fort McMurray, AB – October 20, 2017) – Winter Maintenance Zones (WMZ) are relaxed for the week of Oct. 23 – 27. This means that residential on-street parking will be permitted until WMZs are activated by the Municipality.

When winter maintenance is required, on-street parking will be unavailable from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day that your zone is active. This will allow Municipal crews to clear a safe path for residents, emergency vehicles and Municipal equipment. 

Residents can identify their zone and subzone by checking the signage along their residential street, or by reviewing the updated maps or the Find Your Zone tool at

Photo radar vehicles will be located near the following areas for week of Oct. 23 – 29, 2017:

  • Alberta Drive
  • Franklin Avenue
  • Eglert Drive
  • Signal Road
  • Loutit Road
  • All school and playground zones within the Urban Service Area

DriveSafe Intersection Safety Systems are active at the following intersections:

  • Thickwood Boulevard and Silin Forest Road
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Woodland Drive
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Cornwall Drive 
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Real Martin Drive
  • Franklin Avenue and Tamarack Village Mall
  • Franklin Avenue and Hospital Street
  • Confederation Way and Paquette Drive

We ask motorists to be mindful of posted speed limits and to obey traffic signals.
