Bylaw Services Weekly Update Sept. 11 – 17, 2017

(Fort McMurray, AB – September 8, 2017) – If you need to cross a street, the best place to do so is at a crosswalk. Crosswalks are placed in areas with improved visibility and are signed to indicate to drivers that pedestrians cross the road at this location. Pedestrians should always stop, look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before entering a crosswalk. Drivers should always approach marked sidewalks with caution. 

Let’s work together to make walking and crossing roads safer for everyone.

Photo radar vehicles will be located near the following areas for week of Sept. 11 – 17, 2017:

  • Alberta Drive
  • McDonald Crescent
  • Brett Drive
  • Confederation Way
  • Highway 69 – Saprae Creek Trail
  • All school and playground zones within the Urban Service Area

DriveSafe Intersection Safety Systems are active at the following intersections:

  • Thickwood Boulevard and Silin Forest Road
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Woodland Drive
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Cornwall Drive 
  • Thickwood Boulevard and Real Martin Drive
  • Franklin Avenue and Tamarack Village Mall
  • Franklin Avenue and Hospital Street
  • Confederation Way and Paquette Drive

We ask motorists to be mindful of posted speed limits and to obey traffic signals.
