Municipality Accepting Proposals to Develop Programs and Services for Ending Homelessness

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 10, 2016) – Submissions are being accepted for the annual Community Plan on Homelessness Request for Proposal (RFP).

The RMWB receives funding for homelessness initiatives from the provincial and federal governments. Applicants are invited to submit proposals for programs and services that align with Heading Home: The Right Thing to Do, 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness 2010-2020 using the Housing First approach.

“The Housing First approach to ending homelessness has had great success in our region,” said Amanda Ruetz, Community Plan on Homelessness Program Coordinator. “Circumstances change all the time, so developing effective programs and services that support those in need can have benefits for the entire community.”

Housing First focuses on accomplishing five primary goals: education, change management, prevention, re-housing and provision of supports. For more information about the RFP, please visit www.rmwb.ca/cph.
