Municipality Continues to Engage with Residents Using New Recovery Focus Groups

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 24, 2016) – As part of the Municipality’s commitment to continued public engagement, the Recovery Task Force is seeking volunteers who are willing to participate in small focus groups in Fort McMurray.

The focus groups will be an opportunity for municipal staff and residents to meet and have deeper discussions. The focus groups will be small round-table discussions, with the goal of gathering feedback from a diverse range of Wood Buffalo residents.

Participating residents will be able to provide feedback on select recovery activities before they are launched to the public. This will allow the Recovery Task Force to provide services and programming that meets the needs of Wood Buffalo residents more effectively.

At this time, residents must be able to meet in-person in Fort McMurray to participate.

To apply as a focus group volunteer, residents can go to or apply by phone through the PULSE Line at 780-743-7000. Questions can be emailed to
