Notice: Winter Maintenance Zones Relaxed October 17 and 18

(Fort McMurray, AB – October 14, 2016) – Winter Maintenance Zones (WMZ) are relaxed starting Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 18, until further notice. This means that residential on-street parking will be permitted until the Zones are reactivated by the Municipality.

WMZ will be relaxed on a day-to-day basis until winter maintenance is required. When Zones are reactivated, notification will be shared with the public, including on the Municipal website, electronic street signage, and social media. On-street parking restrictions will come back into effect when WMZs are reactivated.

The Municipality’s priority is to inform residents about the program for snow and ice control and to facilitate on-street parking restriction, so that residents can avoid being ticketed or towed.

Residents can identify their Zone by checking the signage along their residential street, by reviewing the mapping provided on the Municipal website, or by using the Find Your Zone tool at rmwb.ca/snowplow.
