Residents Invited to Take Age-Friendly Needs Assessment Survey

(Fort McMurray, AB – June 12, 2017) – The Advisory Committee on Aging (ACOA) is undertaking an assessment of age-friendliness in our community. Residents are invited to take part by participating in an online survey.

The Age-Friendly Needs Assessment survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is an important step in our application to be designated an age-friendly community by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Take the survey at rmwb.ca/acoa. The deadline to participate is Saturday, June 24.

The assessment will identify gaps and opportunities for improving the age-friendliness of eight areas of community life:

  • Outdoor spaces and buildings
  • Transportation
  • Housing
  • Social participation
  • Respect and social inclusion
  • Civic participation and employment
  • Communications and information
  • Community support and health services

An age-friendly Wood Buffalo will encourage better health, participation and security for elders and seniors.
