Thank you to participants in 2017 Stuff-A-Bus for Santas Anonymous

(Fort McMurray, AB – December 13, 2017) – Beginning on November 20, local businesses, organizations and schools participated in the second annual Stuff-A-Bus event by collecting donations of toys and gift cards for the local Santas Anonymous initiative.

Santas Anonymous is a student-led initiative at Father Patrick Mercredi Community High School and has been in operation since 1984. This year the Transit team at the RMWB partnered with Santas Anonymous to help ensure families in need in our region have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season.

On Thursday, December 7, Municipal Transit buses visited participating local businesses, organizations and schools to collect their donations. Special guests on the bus included students from the Santas Anonymous initiative, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus, who took time out of their very busy schedules to thank all participating businesses, organizations and schools for their kind donations.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who participated in the event this year,” said Tony Doherty, RMWB Manager, Transit Operations. “Thanks to the generosity of the participating businesses, organizations and schools, we were able to collect approximately $21,500 in toy and cash donations. We are pleased to have the opportunity to help Santas Anonymous to brighten the holiday for children and families in our region.”
