Winter Maintenance Zones activate Monday November 20

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 17, 2017) – Winter Maintenance Zones will activate on Monday, November 20, including on-street parking restrictions. Winter Maintenance Zones are being activated based on the weather forecast for the weekend of November 18 and 19; should snowfall not occur in the anticipated amount, the Winter Maintenance Zones will be relaxed.

When Winter Maintenance Zones are activated, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., one day a week, you will not be permitted to park on your residential street. Residents can identify their zone and subzone by checking the signage along their residential street, by reviewing the mapping provided on the municipal website, or by using the Find Your Zone tool at rmwb.ca/snowplow.

Residents are responsible for complying with parking regulation as set out in the Roads and Transportation Bylaw No. 02/079. Parking tickets and towing fees are the responsibility of the vehicle owner. All towing information can be found at rmwb.ca/snowplow.

The Municipality’s priority is to inform and educate residents about the program and to facilitate on-street parking restrictions so that residents can avoid being ticketed or towed.

Motorists are advised to follow road equipment from a safe stopping distance and to allow space for visibility.

Find up-to-date information about Winter Maintenance Zones at rmwb.ca/snowplow, or call the PULSE line at 780-743-7000.
