YMM Home Show Booths Sell Out; Businesses Encouraged to Register for Job Fair

(Fort McMurray, AB – February 14, 2017) – The YMM Home Show is fully booked with more than 100 vendors registered. All booths are now filled for the event, which takes place March 3 and 4 in the Nexen Field House at MacDonald Island. Additional registrations will still be accepted but they will be placed on a waiting list.

“We are thrilled that so many builders, designers, landscapers, contractors, and other vendors have signed up to bring their expertise to our residents,” said Amanda Haitas, Manager, Economic Development. “Whether you’re rebuilding or repairing your home after the wildfire or you’re looking for ways to update and improve your home there’s something for everyone.”

Space is still available at the Job Fair, which is taking place alongside the YMM Home Show. The Job Fair aims to connect those in the community seeking work with local employers.

With less than three weeks until the two-day event, all businesses that are currently hiring are encouraged to visit choosewoodbuffalo.ca to register for the Job Fair and to learn more. Registration for the Job Fair is free for all businesses.

Small business representatives who are unable to attend the full two-day Job Fair are welcome to share booths, take part in the bull pen for an hour or two at a time and post open positions on the job board. On-site human resources support is also available to collect resumes on behalf of your business.

If you are a small business and you have questions about the options available to you to take part in the Job Fair, you can email vanessa.cheeseman@gov.ab.ca

Attendance on March 3 and 4 at both the YMM Home Show and Job Fair is free for all residents.
