igNIGHT is ready to illuminate downtown Fort McMurray

(Fort McMurray, AB – October 19, 2017) – Wood Buffalo’s light-based public art exhibition is set to start illuminating downtown Fort McMurray. igNIGHT begins tomorrow and runs until Oct. 29.

Residents are invited to meet the igNIGHT artists and stay for a live performance at the exhibition’s opening night in Jubilee Plaza and McMurray Experience. Opening remarks by the Public Art Committee begin at 7 p.m.

igNIGHT will also play host to Art Tours by the Public Art Committee and a Performing Arts Extravaganza event on Oct. 27.

“Residents can visit Jubilee Plaza and McMurray Experience daily, from sundown to 11 p.m., to experience how art can enhance our public spaces,” said Ana Maria Mendez, Public Art Committee Chair. “The local arts community has collaborated around the theme of Canada 150 to come up with truly innovative ways to illuminate our downtown.”
