RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has released another recovery progress report.

Council and Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee Updates

On Oct. 12, 2016, Council unanimously approved the Comprehensive Firebreak Program presented by Administration and the Wood Buffalo Recovery Task Force. Firebreak Properties are defined as real or personal property that has suffered damage as a result of proactive measures taken to demolish the property for firebreak purposes in advance of any ignition of the property. Any Firebreak Property owner who has not been contacted by the Recovery Task Forces is asked to email wildfire.claims@rmwb.ca with their contact information.

On Oct. 12, 2016, the Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee voted unanimously to give its support to the $55.7 million recovery budget proposal, which will now be considered by Council in the 2017 municipal budget.
