The Municipality has announced free temporary waste transfer stations for residents re-entering for Phase 2B in Abasand, Beacon Hill and Waterways.
Residents of Abasand, Beacon Hill and Waterways re-entering for Phase 2B can dispose of residential waste free of charge at any of a number of bins located around these neighbourhoods. This service is intended to facilitate cleanup of residential waste for Phase 2B residents only and does not include contractor waste, hazardous waste, fridges or freezers.
Waste bins will be at the following locations until further notice:
Abasand - North

- Corner of Athabasca Ave. & Robinson Lane
- Corner of Athabasca Ave. & Richardson Lane
- Corner of Athabasca Ave. & Roy Lane

Residents and contractors are reminded that on Nov. 4, the landfill returned to regular operational hours from 8:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., seven days a week.
In addition, tipping fees for residential household waste were reinstated on Nov. 1. Tipping fees for residential household waste will be charged as per the Solid Waste Disposal Rates as set out in the Utility Rates Bylaw (No. 10/001).
Until Nov. 7, a waste bin is located in the parking lot at Michelle’s Your Independent Grocer (formerly Extra Foods) at 251 Powder Drive for residents to conveniently dispose of Halloween pumpkins. Please be advised that only pumpkins can be received at this location. Outside of the drop-off dates, pumpkins and compostable yard waste can be dropped off at the landfill seven days a week.
