The Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee (WBRC) is delighted to welcome Nathalie Aubrey to the committee following approval of the Selection Committee’s recommendation to Council on Tuesday night.
“We are thrilled to have Nathalie join the Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee as we continue to support our community in recovery,” said Jeanette Bancarz, WBRC Chair. “On behalf of the WBRC and the Recovery Task Force, we welcome Nathalie to the WBRC. We know she will be a major contributor to our shared community recovery efforts.”
Ms. Aubrey’s appointment follows an open public call for applications earlier this month. Currently General Manager, MacKay River Operations for Suncor Energy, Ms. Aubrey replaces former WBRC member Mark Hodson, who resigned in November due to relocation for work outside of the region.
“I am happy to join such an energized team and look forward to working with the team in shaping the future of our community,” said Ms. Aubrey. “The last year has been very challenging for our community, with some of our friends, colleagues and neighbours more affected than others. I believe that through collaboration, empathy and hard work, we will be successful in making our community a better place.”
Ms. Aubrey joins Ms. Bancarz, Maggie Farrington (Vice-Chair), Kevin Fleury, Coun. Sheldon Germain, Marty Giles, Kim Jenkins, Coun. Keith McGrath and Coun. Allan Vinni on the WBRC.
The next scheduled public meeting of the WBRC is on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Jubilee Centre.
