A number of residents in Wood Buffalo are expected to make insurance claims for property loss over the coming months due to the wildfire. To make this process easier, the Municipality has established a new email system to request relevant property files.
To process property loss claims, insurance adjusters will require approved property files and plans accessible through the Planning and Development Department.
Property owners can request these property files and approved plans through the Planning and Development Department at email@example.com. Request can also be made through an online form at www.rmwb.ca/property.info.
Residents can expect the following documents from their property file, if applicable:
- Real Property Reports
- Approved Building Plans
- Approved Development Permits
- Compliance or Land Use Memorandum
- Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Decision
- Variance Approval
Requests can be made for property files to be delivered online, or for hard copies to be picked up at the Planning and Development office. For hard copy requests of property files, requests must first be made online. Applicants will then receive a notification email informing them when their files are ready to be picked up from the municipal offices at Timberlea Landing, located at 309 Powder Drive.
