RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and the Government of Alberta continue to collaborate to ensure that a common understanding of flood mitigation challenges facing the Flood Hazard Area of Waterways is achieved at both municipal and provincial levels.

The RMWB submitted a proposal for flood mitigation to the Government of Alberta on Aug. 18, 2016, and received a letter responding to the proposal on Sept. 21, 2016. Since receiving the letter, the Municipality has requested clarification on some of the items presented by the Government of Alberta.

More information regarding flood mitigation measures will be shared with all residents when clarification has been received.

In an effort to empower the community-driven recovery, residents have been asked to complete a survey about Waterways. If you are a resident of Waterways and have not yet completed the survey, please call the Pulseline at 780-743-7000.

Results from the survey will be announced publicly on Monday, Oct. 3.
