RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

Residents must avoid marked areas of the Birchwood Trails where active FireSmart work is ongoing.

Caution signs have been posted in areas that are unsafe for entry because logging, mulching and other active work with machinery is taking place.

Residents must heed the warnings posted on these signs and physical barriers erected to ensure their safety, including logs placed across the trails.

Equipment being used for FireSmart mulching requires a 300m safe distance to operate. There is a risk of injury to anyone coming within that distance.

The majority of trails remain open for your enjoyment, whether you are out for a walk, jogging or skiing.

Project details and a map of the trails that are open are available at rmwb.ca/birchwoodtrails.

If you have questions about safety on the trails or about ongoing FireSmart activities you can call the PULSE Line 24/7 at 780-743-7000 or send an email to recovery@rmwb.ca.
