Starting Wednesday, March 1, 2017, the Here for You Public Information Sessions will be coming to the McMurray Experience at Jubilee Plaza every second Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
These drop-in sessions will continue the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s (RMWB) commitment to keeping residents informed in an accessible, convenient way.
Members of the Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee (WBRC) and Recovery Task Force will be available to residents who have specific questions about the rebuild and recovery of the community. These drop-in sessions will be held on the weeks alternate to the WBRC meetings.
“It’s essential our residents are informed about what’s going on as our community works to recover from the May wildfire,” said Jeanette Bancarz, Chair, WBRC. “Being at the McMurray Experience every other Wednesday will provide a reliable opportunity for residents to meet with us and be heard, as well as, hear the most up to date information regarding recovery. It's important for the Recovery Committee and Task Force to understand the concerns and priorities of our residents."
Residents and other community stakeholders are encouraged to bring their questions, concerns and suggestions to these sessions where they will be able to get answers and feedback in person.
These bi-weekly sessions are part of the RMWB’s ongoing efforts to listen to the community’s concerns, and provide valuable information on the recovery efforts. Most recently, an information session was held at the Doug Barnes Cabin on tree related recovery activity. Upcoming general information sessions will be held at the Multicultural EXPO on Saturday, Feb. 18; WinterPLAY, from Friday, Feb. 24, to Sunday, Feb. 26, and the YMM Home Show & Job Fair from Friday, March 3, to Saturday, March 4.
