RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

Tree Canada will be taking part in a special Here for You public information session about the Re-greening Projects taking place across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB).

Tree Canada representatives will be available to answer questions about Operation ReLeaf – Fort McMurray and the locations in which their reforestation pilot project will run.

“Like all Canadians, everyone at Tree Canada was deeply moved by the wildfire that moved through your community last year,” said Michael Rosen, President, Tree Canada. “We knew instantly that we wanted to do something to help and so we reached out to our amazing corporate partners and everyday Canadians to raise the funds needed to help us restore Fort McMurray’s cherished greenspaces.”

This session is part of the bi-weekly Here for You series being held at McMurray Experience and will take place Wednesday, March 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This series continues the Municipality’s commitment to keep residents informed about recovery efforts in the community.

Residents can also learn more about the latest hazardous tree removal projects, plans for firebreak restoration, trail rehabilitation, and FireSmart landscaping.

Anyone looking to get involved in reforestation can register as a volunteer by calling the PULSE Line at 780-743-7000 or emailing recovery@rmwb.ca. When volunteers are needed, those who have signed up will be contacted.

If you have questions about your rebuild, insurance issues, permits, mental health supports, or any other general recovery questions, you are encouraged to attend this session of the bi-weekly Here for You program at McMurray Experience.
