RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

Effective immediately, all fees at the Regional Landfill associated with the disposal of Acceptable Contaminated Soil for residential homes in wildfire damaged areas will be waived until December 31, 2018 and fees paid to date will be refunded. 

Waiving these fees will help decrease the overall cost of recovery for the owners of properties destroyed and damaged by the wildfire. 

Property owners and contractors hauling soil will be asked to provide a declaration to Regional Landfill staff that indicates the soil originates from a wildfire damaged area. Haulers will also be asked to indicate the approximate number of loads to be delivered for each project. 

Anyone hauling soil from outside the wildfire damaged areas will continue to be required to follow the disposal guidelines set out in the Utility Rates Bylaw No. 10/001.
