RMWB Wildfire Recovery Information

Temporary waste bins have been installed in Abasand, Beacon Hill, Waterways, Wood Buffalo and Stone Creek to support residents who are moving back in to homes rebuilt following the wildfire.

These homes will not be receiving regular residential waste pick-up until approximately 80 per cent of rebuild in the area is complete.

These bins are only for residential waste and will be supervised by the Construction Management Teams (CMTs) and on-site security to ensure contractors and builders are not using the bins.

These residential waste bins are located in a fenced-in area in each community and will be accessible to residents from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The bins will be emptied at least once a week, or more frequently as required.

There will be recycling opportunities at these locations but recyclable materials can also be taken to any of the Municipality’s seven Recycling Depots.

Questions or concerns about regular residential waste pick-up or the installation of these temporary bins should be directed to the PULSE Line at 780-743-7000.

Concerns about contractor use of the waste bins should be directed to the CMTs by calling the PULSE Line or emailing recovery@rmwb.ca.
