Municipality announces opportunity for local resident designs to be featured on street banners

(Fort McMurray, AB – April 12, 2019) – Fort McMurray history is the theme for this year’s Street Banner Program. If you think you can capture the past in art, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is offering an opportunity for local residents to express their creativity.

“We encourage all residents with a passion for artistic expression to check out the programs and submit their work,” said Alanna Bottrell, Community Strategies Coordinator.

Five designs will be chosen and transformed into banners to brighten up our community. These banners will be displayed within the region until spring 2020.  Each resident is allowed one submission.

Artwork for this program must be submitted on a specific type of paper, which can be picked up at the RMWB rural office locations, the Syncrude Clubhouse (101 Cartier Rd.) or the McMurray Experience (9909 Franklin Ave). For more information on how to participate, visit rmwb.ca/bannerprogram.

Submit artwork and completed release forms to McMurray Experience (9909 Franklin Avenue) or Syncrude Clubhouse (101 Cartier Drive) by Monday, May 13.
