Participate in the Downtown Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility Feasibility Study

(Fort McMurray, AB – Nov. 8, 2019) – The Municipality is doing a feasibility study on the idea of a downtown indoor multi-purpose facility and is inviting residents to participate.

Residents are encouraged to share their ideas, thoughts and input on the idea through an online survey at rmwb.ca/participate and by attending a public engagement opportunity:

  • Thursday, Nov. 14, 4-8 pm, Suncor Community Leisure Centre main concourse
  • Saturday, Nov. 16, 1-4 pm, Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre main concourse
  • Monday, Nov. 18, 3-7 pm, Suncor Community Leisure Centre main concourse
  • Thursday, Nov. 21, 4-8 pm, Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre main concourse
  • Friday, Nov. 29, 1-9 pm, Christmas Show & Market, MacDonald Island
  • Saturday, Nov. 30, 10 am-6 pm, Christmas Show & Market, MacDonald Island
  • Sunday, Dec. 1, 10 am-4 pm, Christmas Show & Market, MacDonald Island

This first engagement phase is focused on gathering general public feedback. The information shared through this survey and at public engagement sessions will be used to help determine if the idea of a multi-purpose facility in our downtown is something we should further consider as a community.

There will be additional engagement opportunities as part of a community-driven process in the months ahead. This will include engagement with Indigenous and rural communities, stakeholders and community groups.

Any resident or stakeholder group can also request a one-on-one meeting with the project team on this idea and the feasibility study by contacting PULSE at rmwb.ca/pulse or 780.743.7000.
