Volunteer and float registration open for annual evening Santa Claus Parade

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 1, 2017) – Looking for ways to get added to Santa’s Nice List? Register a parade float or apply to volunteer for the Santa Claus Parade on Dec. 2.

This year, the Municipality is partnering with a community committee consisting of the Wood Buffalo Regional Library, Peter Pond Shopping Mall and Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce to bring a Candy Cane Christmas to downtown Fort McMurray.

The Santa Claus Parade Community Committee is also planning additional activities for Dec. 2. Residents can look forward to events like Breakfast with Santa, Elf Workshop and Santa’s Send Off before lining Franklin Avenue for the 6:30 p.m. parade.

“Last year saw a record number of floats much to the delight of residents, both young and young at heart. Let’s keep that momentum going,” said Mayor Don Scott. “I’d like to thank the Santa Claus Parade Community Committee for working so hard to make this a great event.”

Float registration closes on Nov. 22.
