2017 Bus Shelter Wraps

The Bus Shelter Graphic Wrap Program was initiated by the Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom committee in 2014. The objective of this program is to enhance the beautification of our urban streetscapes, support and encourage the need for public art, and to deter vandalism of public property. Every other year, the Communities in Bloom committee selects a theme that aims to showcase the region’s unique natural assets.

An artist call was circulated in September 2016 and local creatives were encouraged to submit designs that showcased the region’s natural beauty and surrounding landscape. A Public Art Selection Panel chose three designs that are scheduled to be installed on 10 large bus shelters throughout Fort McMurray in spring 2017.

Congratulations to the awarded artists: Jason Blundon, Sarah Smith and Alyssa Wallace!
