2018 Alberta Winter Games


The 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games take place across the Region from February 16 - 19, 2018!

Join in the excitement as we welcome 2,800 participants at 11 local venues to compete in 22 sporting events.

  • Anzac Recreation Centre: Badminton, Ringette
  • Birchwood Trails: Cross Country Skiing
  • Casman Centre: Women's Hockey
  • Father Mercredi High School: Fencing
  • Fort McKay Arena: Speed Skating
  • Fort McMurray Gun Range: Biathlon
  • Frank Lacroix Arena: Figure Skating, Ringette
  • MacDonald Island Park/Shell Place: Judo, Artistic Gymnastics, Men's Hockey, Squash, Curling, Synchronized Swimming, Archery
  • Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre: Volleyball, Westling
  • Vista Ridge: Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing & Freestyle Snowboarding
  • West Wood Public High School: Boxing

Tickets are available now for sport competition and the Opening Ceremonies. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the MacDonald Island Box Office. Sport competition passes come in the form of single day passes or weekend passes (which will grant entrance to all three days of competition including medal matches).
