Volunteer Opportunities

As we prepare to celebrate Canada 150, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Regional Recreation Corporation, Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo, Fort McMurray Heritage Society and Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce have come together as a Community Committee to offer a wide variety of activities for our residents to enjoy!

We encourage you to consider volunteering for positions offered by other members of the committee.

Multicultural Association Of Wood Buffalo

Volunteer with the MCA for the following activities on July 1:

Time Activity Location
8 - 10 a.m. Canada Day Pancake Breakfast Curling Rink, MacDonald Island Park
10:30 a.m. - noon Multicultural Float in the Canada Day Parade Franklin Ave.
1 - 4 p.m. Canada 150 Multicultural Summer Festival
In partnership with the Fort McMurray Heritage Society, the MCA is throwing an all-ages cultural celebration honoring the history of the region and Canada's 150th with dance and performers, as well as new exhibits with guided tours and special guests.

Fort McMurray Heritage Society

The Fort McMurray Heritage Society has a variety of fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Heritage Village after four years of rebuilding!

Volunteer with the Fort McMurray Heritage Society on July 1:
