Paying Your Utility Bill

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo provides water, sewer and garbage collection services to homeowners. Utilities are billed once every two months.

Utility Bill Payment Options

  • Pay online by credit card at
  • Pre-authorized payment by credit card or bank withdrawal by signing up online at
  • Pay online through your financial institution using "Wood Buffalo Utilities" as the payee.
  • Pay in person at one of our Cashiers office’s at Timberlea Landing located at 309 Powder Drive or Jubilee Center located at 9909 Franklin Avenue.
  • Mail a cheque to the address below.

Pre-Authorized Utility Bill Payments 

Save time and money by signing up for pre-authorized utility bill payments! Residents may sign up for pre-authorized utility bill payments using their credit card or through direct debit from their bank account.

*Please note: By signing up for pre-authorized utility bill payments, you are authorizing the Municipality to automatically charge your credit card or debit your bank account for the value of your outstanding utility bill balance on the day your invoice is due. 

Residents that register for pre-authorized utility bill payments from their bank account, need to provide a void cheque or pre-authorized debit form from their financial institution. More information, including the terms and conditions, is available in the online application form. If you need assistance with the online application or would like to apply in person for pre-authorized utility bill payments through your bank account, visit us at:

You may cancel your pre-authorized utility bill payments online at and choosing the ‘Cancellation’ option or a written cancellation notice can be emailed to  You must notify the RMWB Utility Billing department at least 15 days prior to your withdrawal date. Withdrawing from the program does not change or resolve your payment obligations. Alternative arrangements to pay any outstanding balances on your utility account need to be made.
