School Support Declaration

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is required by legislation to bill and collect taxes on behalf of the Provincial Government for the Alberta School Foundation Fund and the Fort McMurray R.C.S.S.D. #32. While the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo bills and collects school taxes, the Municipality has no jurisdiction or control over school board budgets or operations.

School support on a property is shown as "undeclared" unless a declaration of school support is filed by each individual owner. If you wish to change your school support designation, please complete one of the options below:

  1. Click on the School Declaration Form link, print and complete the form and mail, fax or email the completed form to the address found below under Contact Information
  2. A declaration form can be obtained by calling (780) 743-7900 or in person at the Assessment and Taxation Office.

Tax Refund Request Form

If you wish to request a property tax refund, please contact Assessment and Taxation Department for more information. All requests for property tax refunds must be made in writing and approved by the Tax Branch before a refund may be issued.
