National Health & Fitness Day

National Health and Fitness Day is an initiative to make Canada the fittest nation on earth - starting with marking the first Saturday in June as the day when Canadians get out and get active. Hundreds of communities have already proclaimed the day and the National Health and Fitness Day Act, Bill S-211, became law in December 2014!

Our community will celebrate the day with a variety of events and activities that promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage residents to get active.

Please join us on June 1, 2019 at any of the following events.

Hues for Humanity
Location: Birchwood Trails 190 Tamarack Way, Fort McMurray, AB T9K1A1
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Cost: $50
Details: Hues for Humanity is a fun way to support education for students in Africa while enjoying a day out with friends and family. 
This event will be held June 1, 2019 at Birchwood Trails.  The run will follow a 5k path through the area. Each group can walk or run as they choose, while passing through the colour stations. Participants, their families and other guests can enjoy games and other activities while waiting for their run times and for runners to complete the course. When all participants have completed the run, we will have a final gathering and colour toss to celebrate.

Event: June Bug Festival Days
Location: Casman Centre Time: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Details: Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-5:00pm will consist of local entertainment, bouncy castles, carnival games, arts & crafts, food and much more!
