 The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is committed to preserving the peace, upholding the law and providing quality service in partnership with the communities it serves. The purpose of this brief survey is to ensure the public has a say in what the RCMP priorities are for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB).

Each year, Wood Buffalo RCMP establish policing priorities to ensure that, in addition to responding to calls for services, officers focus on the policing issues identified by the public as being the most important. These priorities are determined based on the feedback the RCMP receives from the municipalities and communities they serve.

The RMWB has partnered with the RCMP to conduct this brief survey to ensure policing priorities align with those of the public. Information collected from this survey will be reviewed and considered by RCMP, the RMWB council and policing committees in the region.

This survey will remain open until March 9, 2020. This survey can be completed in one of two methods:

Criminal Record Check (Name Based)

Wait Time: 30 minutes or less for name-based criminal record checks depending on customer volume, criminal record history, upcoming court dates or pertinent police files requiring review. 

Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)

Employment            (working with children, the elderly or handicapped people)
Volunteer                 (a volunteer letter from the non-profit organization containing the letterhead, date, applicants name and a signature from someone in authority will exempt the CRC fee)

Wait Time:  Vulnerable Sector criminal record checks will require 3 to 5 days depending on the customer volume, criminal record history, upcoming court dates or pertinent police files requiring review.

Note: A vulnerable sector CRC requires the RCMP to search criminal conviction records to determine if the applicant has been convicted of a sexual offense listed in the schedule of the Criminal Records Act and has been pardoned.  This may result in a requirement for fingerprints in order to complete your CRC.

*All criminal record check wait times will be greatly reduced if you disclose that you have a criminal record.

$50 certified cheque or money order made payable to ‘Receiver General of Canada’. You may obtain this payment at a bank or post office. (no fee with volunteer letter)

Identification 

Two pieces of identification are required for all services.  One piece must be a valid government issued photo ID like a Driver’s licence or Identification Card, Passport, Nexus Card, Permanent Residence card, or an Indian/Metis Status Card.  The secondary piece of ID only needs to have your name (same name as on your first piece of ID), like a health card, library card, etc. SIN card cannot be accepted.
