Parks & Trails

Take some time to enjoy the region’s parks and trails. There are 475 hectares of serene parks and an extensive, 135-kilometre trail system to explore – running, walking or biking. Learn more about all the municipal outdoor recreation resources available here.

The RMWB Parks Master Plan guides planning, development, management, and investment in the region's open space system. The plan provides a roadmap to capitalize on Wood Buffalo's natural environment, encourage recreation in all seasons, celebrate a culture of the outdoors, and ensure that residents continue to enjoy a high quality of life.

The RMWB Urban Forest Strategy provides strategic direction for managing and enhancing the environmental, social, and economic benefits of the urban forest. The document lays out a vision for the future, core principles, strategic objectives, and recommendations that will be implemented over the next 20 years.
