Recovery Task Force

The Recovery Task Force is a working business unit of the Municipality, appointed by and reporting to the Recovery Team Lead.

Its mandate is to consult and work with other business units of the Municipality, private and not-for-profit sectors, other levels of government and local community stakeholders to decide upon and execute an effective recovery plan.

The goal of the Recovery Task Force is to ensure that the Municipality and its residents will be well established on a path to recovery following the wildfire in the shortest time practicable.

Leadership and accountability for the overall recovery efforts rests with the Municipality through Council. Following the dissolution of the Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee, the Recovery Team Leader reports to and is accountable to Council directly.

Council exercises policy and governance oversight of the Recovery Task Force through the Recovery Team Lead.
