2019 Budget Workshops begin next week

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 20, 2018) - Council will begin 2019 Budget Workshops on November 28, 2018.

During this time, Council will review the budget during a four-day period. The consolidated budget will be presented to Council for their final consideration in December.

The outcome of the budget is intended to meet the public service and infrastructure needs of residents in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Residents are invited to watch Council as they discuss the proposed budget. Key meeting dates include the following:

Nov. 28, (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) – 2019 Community Investment Program

Nov. 29 & 30, (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) – 2019 Operating Budget

Dec. 1, (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) – 2019 Capital Budget

Meeting dates or times may be amended throughout this process. If all budget matters are accommodated during the November 28th to 30th meeting dates, there will be no requirement for the December 1st meeting.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to speak during a 30-minute public delegation session at the beginning of each budget meeting day and after each motion of Council is put on the floor for consideration during budget deliberations.
