2020 Budget meetings begin November 27

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 13, 2019) – Members of the public are invited to join Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Council as they review and deliberate the proposed 2020 Budget during a series of meetings beginning November 27, 2019.

2020 Budget meetings will be held over three to four days, with all meetings beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chamber at 9909 Franklin Ave. Fort McMurray. 

Nov. 27: Community Investment Program 
Nov. 28: Operating Budget 
Nov. 29: Capital Budget 
Nov. 30: Additional budget meeting, if required.

Meeting dates or times may be amended throughout this process to provide Council with sufficient time for deliberation. It is expected that Council will make a decision on the final budgets during these meetings.  

Residents and stakeholders are reminded they can participate in the budget meetings through the delegation process. At the beginning of each meeting there will be a 30-minute delegation session where members of the public will have the opportunity to share their thoughts with Council. A live online stream of all the budget meetings will be available at rmwb.ca/council. All budget meetings will also be streamed live at the rural municipal offices during regular business hours.
